When you start a business you have to set goal for the business and goal for yourself. After a few months you need to update those goal. You might realise your initial goal weren’t realistic or at the opposite too easy. Add a reminder in your calendar to review them more than once a year.
If someone ask me one rule to be efficient in work. I would give the 2 minutes rule: “What takes less than 2 minutes to do should be done straight away.”

What is a a good freelancer? That is very subjective, I would say a mix between a good employee and a good leader. Someone with strong skillsets, independent, and proactive.
A yes man is someone who will always replies yes, yes to work, yes to changes, yes to everything they got asked to please the client. Saying no is not wrong. It’s not disrespectful either.
